The answers visitors ask for most.
Any high school student in Maryland can join an existing chapter or start a new one. No prior finance or economics experience is required.
A free account costs nothing. Max, which opens every quiz, mock challenge and academy, is billed monthly or yearly, and joining your school's chapter is one payment per student for the school year. The Membership page has the prices.
A faculty advisor is recommended and often required by your school, but the MCBA team will guide you through the whole process and provide a turnkey launch kit.
We provide dedicated prep for DECA across all six career clusters, FBLA's twelve role play events, the National Personal Finance Challenge, the National Economics Challenge, and the Stock Market Game. Members also enter the Wharton Global High School Investment Competition, but its rules prohibit paid advisors, consultants, and outside courses that teach the competition, so for Wharton MCBA offers general investing education and a portfolio simulator, and nobody at MCBA coaches a team or reviews its work.
Practice tests, flashcards, study guides, mock challenges, and progress tracking, organized by competition, plus AP coursework with full practice papers, all six DECA clusters, FBLA's role play events, a portfolio simulator running on real market history, and a data analytics center.
Organizations can support students through Bronze, Silver, and Platinum tiers, paid online on the Sponsors page as a single payment for the school year. A business that wants a different mix can build its own package on the same page, from the tiers' benefits and beyond, and send it to us for a written quote. Anyone can also donate any amount there. MCBA follows up with every sponsor about their benefits.
