What a membership opens
MCBA writes its study material against the real formats of the competitions its members enter. A free account opens a sample of each part; the plans below say exactly how much.
Study
34 study topics, each with ten kinds of material, from flashcards and quizzes to guides and mock challenges. Practice papers for three AP courses, unit by unit. In all, 1,900+ flashcards and 2,800+ practice questions, each question with its explanation.
Compete
DECA across six career clusters and 61 events, broken down indicator by indicator, with practice exams for every cluster. FBLA's twelve role play events, concept by concept. Academies for the National Economics Challenge, the National Personal Finance Challenge and the Stock Market Game, and an Investing area for portfolio material.
Practice with an AI judge
Two AI judges keep the event's clock, listen to you present and rate you on the form your event uses, with the words that earned each score. The AI Presentation Grader practices DECA role-plays; the AI Role Play Judge practices FBLA role plays and asks follow-up questions. Max and Chapter members get a weekly allowance of graded runs.
Invest and analyze
The Portfolio Simulator runs four levels on real market history, from monthly decisions to daily ones, with a guided first run. The Data Analytics center adds 20 analysis sets and 40 Quick Calls for reading charts, data and news like an analyst.
Belong to a chapter
Leadership training and business workshops are part of a membership. The Chapter plan also places you in your school's MCBA chapter for the school year, with no approval step.

What a chapter costs
Each student pays for their own place, so a chapter's total grows with its size.
Need-based scholarships are available, arranged one to one rather than online. Write to mcba@mc-ba.com or use the Contact page and we will talk it through.
Chapter total
$400
20 students × $20 = $400. Each student pays their own $20 when they join, once, for the school year.
Who can join
MCBA is built for high school students. These are the rules the Terms and the signup form already set, in plain words.
Under 13
Cannot create an account.
13 to 17
A parent or guardian agrees to the Terms for you.
18 and older
You agree to the Terms yourself.
- High school students
- MCBA programs are intended for high school students and members of participating school communities. Participants are generally expected to be enrolled high school students.
- A parent or guardian, under 18
- Signup has one box to tick: you are at least 13, and you are 18 or older or a parent or legal guardian has read and agreed to the Terms on your behalf. MCBA records that confirmation. A member under 18 may only buy a plan with a parent or guardian's permission, and that adult is responsible for the payment.
- A student ID number
- Signup asks for the ID your school issued, so MCBA can confirm you are a student. Nothing is sent to it, and it is never shared.
- A chapter, for the Chapter plan
- You pick your school from the chapters open to join. A chapter that is still forming cannot be joined yet. If your school has none, you can start one.
- The Terms and the Code of Conduct
- Members follow both, and membership can be suspended or revoked for misconduct. Read section 2 of the Terms for eligibility in full.
How to join
Every membership starts with an account. A free one takes a few fields; a paid plan adds one payment on Stripe.
- 1
Choose how you want to join
Free, Max or your school's chapter. Pick on the plan cards above or on the first screen of signup. For Chapter, you also pick your school from the chapters open to join.
- 2
Create your account
Your name, email, a password, your student ID number and the age confirmation. If a member gave you a referral code, add it here.
- 3
Confirm your email
MCBA sends a link to the address you gave. Open it to finish setting up your account.
- 4
Pay on Stripe, if you chose a paid plan
Max and Chapter are paid on Stripe's own checkout page, and MCBA never sees your card number. A Chapter member joins their school's chapter as soon as the fee is paid. A free account skips this step. You can also pay later: sign in, then use Settings in the Academy or the plan cards on this page.
What the account form asks for
- Your schoolChapter plan only
- Chosen from the chapters open to join. You are placed in it once the fee is paid.
- NameRequired
- The name on your account.
- EmailRequired
- Where MCBA sends the link that confirms your account.
- PasswordRequired
- At least 8 characters.
- School ID numberRequired
- The student ID your school issued, so MCBA can confirm you are a student. Nothing is sent to it, and it is never shared.
- Referral codeOptional
- Have a member's code? Once you are a member too (in a chapter, with dues paid; the Chapter plan does both at once), you both get $5 credit on your MCBA accounts.
- Age and consentRequired
- That you are at least 13, and 18 or older or a parent or legal guardian has agreed to the Terms on your behalf.
Questions
The short answers, from the Terms and the plans themselves.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Cancel Max any time from Settings in the Academy (Membership, then Manage subscription & billing), or by emailing us. Canceling stops future charges, and your access runs to the end of the period you've paid for. A Chapter membership has nothing to cancel: it's one payment and ends on June 30.
Can I get a refund?
Payments are final and not refundable, including for unused time or a renewal you forgot to cancel. A refund is issued only where the law requires it, or where our payment processor issues one under its own policies.
How does chapter pricing work?
Each student pays $20 once for the school year, July 1 to June 30, and picks their school's chapter at checkout. It includes everything in Max until June 30 and doesn't renew; to stay in the chapter the next year, you join again.
Are there scholarships?
Yes. MCBA offers need-based scholarships, arranged one to one rather than online. Write to mcba@mc-ba.com or use the Contact page and we'll talk it through.
Does a chapter need a teacher?
A faculty advisor is recommended, and your school may require one for a student club. The MCBA team guides you through starting the chapter.
Start with a free account.
A name, an email, your student ID and a parent or guardian's OK if you are under 18. Choose Max or your chapter whenever you are ready.
